Lake Waco Murders

One of the most compelling [unsolved] cases in Texas history occurred in the small town of Waco, TX. Three lives were inexplicably taken from this world, and 4 men were put on trial for their deaths. Was this a witch hunt by a dogged detective or did they really take the lives of the three youths? Share your thoughts with me in our facebook discussion group. If you’re interested, please check out the Texas Monthly’s article “The Murders at the Lake.” I would also recommend the book Careless Whispers which won the Edgar award in 1986. This book was written by Carlton Stowers and had Officer Simons as the protagonist. It’s a great way to see the case the way Officer Simons did. Acres Homes

Welcome back to the True Crime Fan Club Podcast, I’m your host Lanie. On the southside of Houston lies a neighborhood called Acres Homes. Acres Homes sits on approximately nine (9) square miles. Acres Homes established during World War I and had initially been a thriving neighborhood, with each home sitting on an acre of land. As the city grew, however, this neighborhood became the “poster child for neglect” Until three different criminals decided to use it for their violent crimes….

Dimebag

Darrell ‘Dimebag’ Abbott was one of the founders of Pantera. His life was tragically ended when a crazed fan stormed the stage. His delusions caused him to believe that Pantera was stealing his thoughts. Dimebag was a born and bred Texas musician who is still fondly spoken about in the Dallas music scene.

R.I.P. Darell ‘Dimebag’ Abbott (August 20, 1966 – December 8, 2004)

This case has been with me since I saw the 1999 file ‘Boys Don’t Cry’. I was obsessed with learning about Brandon’s story and finally decided to tell it to you. We don’t often hear about Brandon anymore when we talk about Transgender rights and prejudices. His story is important. His story deserves to be told.
Note:  Although assigned Female at birth, Brandon identified as male and that is how he will be referred to throughout this episode.

The Lyons of Park Cities

College Sweethearts who fell in love deeply with each other. One from a less affluent background while the other lived a life of Texas luxury. Help Find Christina

Christina Morris was last seen entering a parking garage with an acquaintance at the Shops at Legacy in Plano, TX on August 30, 2014. That acquaintance, Enrique Arochi, is now serving a life sentence in prison for the aggravated kidnapping of Christina. She has still not been found.

This was a very important case for me to cover. I’ve felt a connection with her disappearance ever since she disappeared in 2014. My hope is to help get her name out to a broader audience and help bring Christina home.

If you have any information regarding the disappearance or current whereabouts of Christina Morris, contact Plano Police at 972-424-5678 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 877-373-TIPS.

A $30,000 REWARD IS OFFERED. #FindChristina

Where is Joan?

Joan Risch disappeared mysteriously on October 24, 1961 in Lincoln, Massachusetts. A mother of two, she seemingly vanished into thin air. After discovering what she was checking out of the library, the mystery is further scrutinized by the public at large. Further complicating matters is the crime scene, was Joan attacked in her  home and then murdered elsewhere? OR did she stage her own disappearance to escape the monotony of being a homemaker. After listening to the episode, you decide.
